PROFILE: L.A. Lunch’er “Jen”

As is customary on Midtown Lunch, every Tuesday we profile a random reader to get their recommendations for the best spots to lunch near their work. This week its Jen, the director of PRISM Gallery in West Hollywood. Tonight they’re having a benefit cocktail gathering in conjunction with the blog Umamimart at 6pm to raise money for Second Harvest Japan. The event will feature highballs provided by Yamazaki Whiskey, hors d’oeuvres by Eveleigh and desserts by Fruit & Flour. And the entire ticket price goes to Second Harvest Japan.

Name: Jen

Age: 34

Occupation: Gallery Director

Where in L.A. do you Work?: PRISM, near Sunset Plaza

Favorite Kind of Food: A well made salad and a good steak

Least Favorite Kind of Food: Anything drowning in oil

Favorite Place(s) to Eat Lunch: The homemade daily menu at Dialog Cafe (8766 Holloway Dr), The Lemon Chicken Soup at Mirabelle (8768 W Sunset Blvd) that comes with a side of fresh olive tapenade and bread.

“Go-To” Lunch Place You and Your Coworkers Eat at Too Often? The Chinese Chicken Salad at Chin Chin (8618 W Sunset Blvd)

The farthest place you’ll drive for lunch on a normal day? I like the walk to Tender Greens (8759 Santa Monica Blvd) on Hancock/Santa Monica when I get a chance to step out of the gallery

If you could work anywhere (just because of the lunch) where would it be and why? Singapore, so I could walk to a Hawker Center for lunch and be overwhelmed by lunch choices, although I’d probably end up getting Hainanese Chicken Rice or Wanton Mee on a daily basis

Is there anything you’d like to ask the Midtown Lunch readers in L.A.? Anybody have any other ideas for lunch around Sunset Plaza

If I worked near you I’d eat pizza every single day. Got a recommendation for Jen? Put it in the comments. Want more info about tonight’s event or Second Harvest Japan? Go here.
