Best L.A. Sandwich Lists Will Keep Me Busy For Awhile

In case you missed it, the cover story of this month’s Los Angeles Magazine is dedicated to a topic that is near and dear to our heart… Lunch! The issue is jam packed with lunch ideas, including 10 Food Truck Finds, 4 Lunch Deals at Fancy Restaurants, and a feature on 4 food courts by our good friend Noah Galuten.  (It also has a little feature on Midtown Lunch, but you don’t care about that because if you’re reading this, you’re already in the know!)  The best part of the issue, though, is a scanwiches style list of 17 sandwiches that all look pretty amazing.   Sadly the issue isn’t online (yet), but the sandwiches I’m most excited to try from the list are after after the jump.

  • Doner Kebab Sandwich from Spitz (Two Locations)
  • Capastrami from Capriotti’s (9683 Wilshire Blvd, Beverly Hills)
  • Roasted Lamb & Feta from Papa Cristo’s (2771 W. Pico Blvd, Mid City)
  • Meatball Sub at All About the Bread (7111 Melrose Ave, WeHo)
  • Tongue Sandwich from Attari (1388 Westwood Blvd, Westwood)

To get the rest you’ll have to pick up a hard copy of the magazine.  So 1980’s, I know, but it’s totally worth it (although admittedly we’re kind of biased.)

Also for sandwich lovers… Grub Street has released their own round up of Los Angeles’ Best Sandwiches. Their list skews a bit more expensive, so there is surprisingly very little crossover… which is great.  (I believe that the Godmother from Bay Cities Deli was the only sandwich to appear in both.)  Now the only question is, which one to try today!?
