Midtown Lunch

The Desi Food Truck seemed to flit in and out of the Twitter Tracker and would occasionally make its way to the Financial District. Now it seems they’ve found a daily spot at Soho Square Park at 6th Ave. and Spring St., according to their Twitter feed. They were kicked out of Midtown and tried parking in the FiDi permanently but as you all know, there are a ton of trucks vying for a small number of spots every day. The food is pretty decent and there aren’t a lot of Indian options in that area, so it seems to be a win-win situation for those who can’t make it over to Hudson St. or down to the Lent Space lot to visit trucks.

It’s not often that you come across a lunch that’s spicy across the board, but that’s what I found the other day when I finally had a chance to stop by the Desi Food Truck, aka the latest truck to decamp to the Financial District after being kicked out of midtown. They have a vegetarian and meat version of a “Desi lunch special” and since the combination of a kati roll and dal sounded delicious, that’s what I ordered.
