Toloache Lowers Taco, Burrito Prices In Ongoing Specials

It looks like Toloache is trying to bump up business by offering some deals on tacos and burritos that are ongoing. Every time I’ve walked by recently, it seems there has been a signboard out front advertising three mix and match tacos for $9, which is a decrease from $12. Another sign in the window shows that you can get a burrito for $9 and $7 on Fridays (if I’m reading that correctly). These prices are pretty on par for the area, but after some of their dishes jumped the $10 mark, it’s nice to see some back within our lunching price range.

Try their tortas. Much better than their tacos or burritos. They used to have this brisket torta that came with spicy tomato soup to dip it in, I loved that. The torta is still on the menu but sadly no more soup.

  • They have been running some form of special like this since Hurricane Sandy. Basically the old $3 tacos Tuesdays and $7 burrito Fridays became $3 tacos everyday ($9 for 3 mix & match) and $9 burritos everyday except $7 on Fridays.

I really like their carne asada steak or puerco in tacos, and their puerco in a burrito bowl (“burrito salad” is their code word for it). The excellent puerco is flavored with a hint of chocolate. It’s not sweet, but cacao is used like they do in some BBQs/chilis. Those have been my go-to at this place for years. You get a good amount of meat in every taco/burrito, the flavors of all the ingredients work great together, and the specials makes them that much better of a deal. If you find yourself eating at Chipotle too often, give these guys a try.
