BonChon On John Momentarily Shuttered By Fire
I stopped short while walking down John St. yesterday as I spotted a papered up window out of the corner of my eye. Then I spotted a sign hanging in one window below some scaffolding, and lo and behold, BonChon Chicken apparently suffered some sort of fire recently and now we’re deprived of Korean fried chicken.
This sign was hanging in the window, offering no estimate of when the place would reopen. It was also hard to tell just how bad this fire was since the windows were papered up, although it didn’t look like there was outer damage to the front of BonChon or the rest of the building above it. I guess we’ll just have to do without Korean fried chicken for the time being, and in a pinch its (inferior) sister restaurant Kortako over on Nassau St. will do.
