Would You Eat Steam Table Indian From A Truck?

Shout out to Lunch’er Ameet who alerted me to a new truck selling Indian food on Whitehall St., between Bridge & Pearl streets. When I checked out what they were offering on Friday I was surprised to see the food was coming from a steam table on the truck, and is apparently being brought from some other brick and mortar location. Click through for a look at what they’re serving.

I haven’t had a chance to eat at the truck, but Ameet says you can get chicken, fish or vegetable dishes for $4.75 for a small size and $6 for a large and lamb is $7. Meals come with rice or naan which is kind of nice because normally you don’t get a choice at mobile operations. He sampled both the chicken curry and chicken tikka masala and said both were “good compared to the options available in the FiDi.” Other options not pictured the day I was there (I would guess they switch up the offerings) were biryani and lamb curry, in addition to the daal makhani, palak paneer, matar aloo, murg methiwalla and chole majedar from the above photo.

If any of you other Lunch’ers have eaten at this truck, let us know what you thought in the comments.
