Who Wants Lunch For Two At Kutsher’s Tribeca?

Sometimes we at Midtown Lunch: Downtown get offered a meal at fancy pants places with lunch outside the $10 price cap. Kutsher’s Tribeca on Franklin St. (btw. Hudson & Greenwich) which has a lovely-looking lunch menu including gems like duck schmaltz fries and a pastrami sandwich recently invited me to lunch. Instead of eating fatty meats and carbs myself, Kutsher’s has allowed me to give away a lunch for two for up to $100 to be used Monday through Friday between 11:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., and by May 31. If all of that sounds like something you could do, let us know in the comments why you and your guest should be the chosen ones. You have until the end of Friday to plead your case and a winner will be chosen and notified by the following Monday. Take a look at the lunch menu after the jump.

My (Jewish) grandmother would have been 90 years old today! I’ve been eyeing this place for a long time, thinking “wow grandma would have loved this place”. So I think that the fact that you’re posting this today, of all days, is a sign from my grandma to get my ass up and go! My sister and I live and work in the city so getting there is never an issue, this is just the perfect momentum that I needed. Thanks Grandma :)

We’ve been dying to get to Kutsher’s Tribeca since its open. In light of Purim today I’d be salivating over the Whole Megillah. Even if not in season we’d go for the latke starter and the chicken/duck liver. And the borscht salad would take me back. And finally can I get the duck schmaltz fries for dessert?

Because I’m a loyal reader who enjoys good food and trying new places (especially places like this that I can’t afford on my own dime!)

  • This Jew loves his Jewish food. Been wanting to try Kutcher’s since it opened, but it is unfortunately outside of my normal eating budget. I’d love the opportunity to eat Matzoh Ball, and Gefilte Fish, Pastrami, and Duck Schmalz Fries to my heart’s content and see if Kutcher’s really is as great as all of the hype I’ve been hearing.

  • Neither my wife or I are jewish but we celebrate passover with the family so I guess that makes us honorary. She works in Tribeca and I work in the Financial District and have been in the doghouse – so please let’s make this happen!

Looking forward to chicken liver, schmaltzing it up and triple serving of motzah ball soup!!

    Cheers

  • Not Jewish, but Goodfoodic. (dodges tomato)

Because I still subscribe to Downtown Lunch even though I don’t work there anymore. In fact, I don’t work at all T_T, but can write up a damn good review as if my career depended on it.

    With photos. Lots of photos.

I should win because I’m a Downtown Luncher working well past time for downtown dinner for the second night in a row, and I’m imagining the vacation day I’ll take to go enjoy my pastrami and chopped liver. And if that isn’t good enough, I should go because you can come with me Andrea H!

As I stare out the window of my midtown office and look downtown, I am constantly bombarded with images of people on the street laughing, rubbing their stomachs, and congratulating each other on another great lunch. And as I bring a fork full of salad (the exact same salad I’ve had for the past 3 weeks) to my face, I can’t help but think that those very people just had another amazing meal at Kutsher’s…

  • Me! Me! I work a few blocks away, and I would love to bring my co-worker, who has NEVER has a matzo ball soup before in her life. Seriously, she just told us on Tuesday, and this is the perfect opportunity to bring her up to speed on all the yumminess! It will be great surprise thank you as well, she is always first and last to leave on our team – and we know those people don’t always get the recognition they deserve. I will have it up on my blog after we eat so the world can know what we ate! Thanks for the offer: )

I just moved to NY and I’m a poor, lowly assistant who could never afford this on my own. I need to enjoy a fantastic meal and a night out on the town. Please pick me.

After 10 years of being with a shiksa, next week my foodie wife is formally converting to Judaism. What better way to say thanks for becoming member of the tribe than a lunch of matzo ball soup and pastrami (her two favorite Jewish foods)?

Deli is one way I know who I am. Sharing corned beef and appy with my son in person and with my departed relatives in spirit keeps me connected culturally.
Kutsher’s old name and new approach also looks forward and backward.
Besides all of that – a topnotch deli feast for free? are you kidding?! Who wouldn’t want it?!!

I’m an Indian-American who grew up going to his Jewish best friend’s house every year for Passover. Since I moved to the city eight years ago, I haven’t had a drop of matzoh ball soup. I’m fiending! Also, I would be happy to recite the prayer over the wine in Hebrew for the Midtown Lunch overlords if that would improve my case. GOD BLESS AMERICA!
