Papa Perrone Gives More Details Of FiDi Shop, Plans For Truck

Future home of many kinds of carbs.

When last I heard from Johnpaul from theĀ Papa Perrone truck about the shop they will be a part of on Water St. (at Coenties Slip), there weren’t a lot of details hammered out about what would be served since the opening isn’t expected until December or January (or later, since these places almost never open on schedule). Since then, more information has come our way regarding what’s going to be served at the store, and what will happenĀ to the truck that those in midtown know and love. Click through for what Mr. Perrone has to say (and it includes talk of doughnuts and rice balls).

A friend wanted to open a high-end bagel shop, so they asked him to help manage it. So far the plan is to have bagels, doughnuts and crepes along with other breakfast items. Come lunchtime things could get really good as there will likely be some of the favorites from Papa Perrone’s on the menu like rice balls and perhaps the fabled Rutgers special that as Perrone explained to his partners “went over big at the truck. It was a lot of work yet we can do it here.” The truck will continue to operate for lunch, but it’s unclear at this point where it will be parking.
