Win A Fancy Pants Dinner In Tribeca

width=Even hardcore Downtown Lunch’ers need to lay off the street meat every once in a while and go over the $10 mark. So we’re breaking the rules to give away a dinner for 2 worth $120 at The Harrison on Greenwich & Harrison in Tribeca, courtesy of deal site BlackboardEats.com. I know there are a lot of freeloaders out there, so if you’re not already, sign up for BlackboardEats and then you have through Friday to let me know in the comments why you should get to eat dinner for free. On a side note, there’s an upcoming deal on the site for 30% off  at The Bailey Pub & Brasserie in the FiDi, which is normally out of ML price range.

  • I want to eat for free because I just went into debt to pay for 300+ people to eat at my wedding!

I’ve always wanted to try the Harrison. As a former DL and now current ML I am a hardcore follower of the site and a devoted follower of Blackboard eats and some of the steals they have been offering in their young lifetime. I would love to be able to bring my girlfriend out for a nice meal on an evening after work so she doesn’t have to complain about how my breath smells like onions from my usual lunch of street meat!

I work in midtown, my husband works all the way downtown, we never get to have lunch together. In fact, we’re lucky to have dinner together without falling asleep on our plates because we usually play with, feed, and tuck in our 9-month-old before starting on our own meal. Oh, and having a kid means every dinner out at least doubles in price because you pay the babysitter $15/hr plus $15 for dinner. So we use BlackBoard Eats, Groupon, OpenTable Spotlight and all the rest of the discount sites when we can, and we could definitely use a free meal besides.

    Dear Midtown Lunch,

I am a long time reader but this is my first time ever posting…and what is better than free food to motivate me into this action. Hey, I am fat as Zach might exclaim! My birthday just passed on the 19th and no one and I mean no one remembered my birthday(family and friends). I kinda expected this but not from my best friend, who also forgot. Besides not speaking with anyone(how could they!)currently…I spent my birthday by going to ShopRite, oh yes indeed!. Where, i purchased a pint of Turkey Hill chocolate chip/cookie dough ice cream(on sale for 88 cents) and a package of Italian Village Ravioli(on sale for 1 dollar). Hey, I am fat and cheap! But alas, I was too sad to eat…and currently both items are in my freezer. So it would be nice to have some post-horrible birthday luck. If, I am chosen a picture of said items and documentation of my birthday shall be provided. Thank you for your time and consideration.

I’m a dedicated reader of both MidtownLunch.com and BlackboardEats.com (even before BBE started charging $1 for their specials – a tiny price to pay for some of the amazing deals offered)! I will happily put on my fancy pantalones, snap high-resolution photos and compose reviews in iambic pentameter in exchange for free dinner at the Harrison.

I should win because I am down 1k this month on poker and surviving on bread + nutella.

Pick me, pick me please. I’ve had a pretty rough week, long story short, didn’t get the job I wanted. A fancy-pants dinner would be perfect for me and hubby!

  • I have NOT won a free dinner here. Might as well throw my name into the hat with the other freebie-seekers.

And my guest will likely be a ML commenter so they can write about it and I can just be lazy and EAT!!

i deserve to win because i have to trudge my sorry ass down to my client in Tribeca everyday and try and make my bosses even richer than they are. (meanwhile, i’m scrimping to find <$10 lunches.)

I’d love a free dinner at the Harrison because I live nearby in Battery Park City, and whenever we walk past it my husband starts talking about how he read about their fantastic duck fat fries and we have to go try them. We haven’t yet as it’s a bit outside the price range for our usual dinners out. I’m also a dedicated user of Blackboard Eats (both before and after the $1 charge started). And I love Midtown Lunch — I work on the fringe of midtown on the west side, and the site often inspires me to take a long walk at lunchtime.

Good afternoon, I deserve the the meal for two at The Harrison because I’d fly all the way from England to New York to enjoy it! A friend and I are in the City from 30 March through to 4 April and I’ve been following Midtown Lunch for a while to get the best information on where and what to eat. We made our list of what we wanted to do and ‘food, food and more food’ is a big feature! We can’t think of any better way to take a bite out of New York than to eat at The Harrison!

I deserve to win because I absolutely loved my meal at Jimmy Bradley’s Red Cat and would be so grateful to be able to win a fancy pants meal at The Harrison. And now, I respect Jim Bradley even more for being brave and fighting his way through his ongoing radiation treatments for his oral cancer. We (my boyfriend and I) can not wait and are highly anticipating J & S Food Hall! Stay strong!

Thanks to everyone who commented on this! I’d like to congratulate the winner, @evienyc, who can now take her mom out to dinner without complaint.
