Midtown Lunch

One of the three locations of Terrace Fish & Chips was seized by the marshal, with the gates down and notices posted on Friday. I reviewed this location a while back and every time I walked by it was always busy, but I’m guessing the landlord was jacking up the rent because a sign on the door says they lost their lease. Lovers of cheap seafood can take heart that there are two other locations, one down on Pearl St. (at Coenties Alley) and the other on Church St. (btw. Duane & Reade) in Tribeca. Still, with this and the closing of Tokyo Kitchen, and more and more chain places opening up it makes me fear for all of the independent lunch places.
