Tribeca’s New Takahachi Bakery Is Going To Make Me Fat

A new spot selling Japanese baked goods and bread, Takahachi Bakery, officially opened yesterday on Murray St. (at Church), a month later than planned. I stopped by to see what they had (you can also read about it here), and of course couldn’t get out of there without buying something from their intimidating selection.

The store is pretty large with some seating in the back.

It would take a lot of typing to list everything they sell, but they had a lot of filled buns and croissants with things like sweet bean, sesame and custard, and some matcha flavored things. They also had a lot of types of bread and some cookies.

Most of the stuff was sitting out on counters or shelves, but there was a refrigerated case with some fancier cakes and macarons. There wasn’t a menu up but they also seemed to have some lunch items like salad and soup, and ice cream. Some of the baked good were more on the savory side and would be good for lunch.

I ended up getting this coronet filled with black sesame ($1.95), and it was freakin’ delicious.

What I’m trying to say is this place could make me very fat and I’m sure I will be back to do some more “research” for you lunch’ers. If anyone else has checked this place out, feel free to chime in with what you liked in the comments.
