  • sadly, as of 12:20, fauzia & the heavenly delights cart was a no-show. no sign of biryani, either. settled for two pupusas from soler bermudez from the red hook ballfields. choice of two with pickled cabbage, pickled onions, pickled jalapeño, tomato sauce, sour cream, and maduros ran $7. having never been to red hook, i’m guessing this is a borough mark-up. i had the pork/jalapeño/cheese and chicken; other choices were beef/cheese, cheese, wildflower/cheese, been/cheese. the menu listed tamales, but i didn’t see.

not bad for a change of pace, but i wouldn’t kill myself looking for them at this price. i’d been pretty excited for jamaican . . ..

  • I was there 20 mins later, the vendor line-up was still a little short.

The Street Sweets truck was out though on Murray between Greenwich and the West Side Highway. They’re going to try being there on Friday’s, and may add a ham and cheese brioche if I keep bugging them for one.

Yeah, I was just over there. I’m guessing some vendors may have pulled out because of the weather. I was hoping there would be more food and less pashminas.
