Wish Me Luck

This week I will be taking the Bar exam, so I am taking a few days off. That’s fair, right?

(P.S. this means I will soon be on the hunt for employment, so send any suggestions my way please!! Legal and non legal.)

Here are some of my favorite posts of the summer so far to keep you busy in the mean time:

I-Green Frozen Yogurt and Kitchen

This weekend a brand new spot opened in Chinatown with, as the name suggests,  an odd combination of edibles: vegan sushi, vegan American food (i.e. cheesesteaks), vegan Chinese food (i.e. soy general tso’s), Bubble tea, and Frozen yogurt. Frozen Yogurt is 49 cents per ounce. I sampled the mango frozen yogurt  and it had a refreshing mango flavor.

Milk & Honey Flowing From Sister Cities Park

This week,  Luncher John tries Sister Cities Park’s Milk and Honey.

If you walk over to check out the remarkable art collection at the Barnes Foundation, you may pass by the city’s newest park, Sister Cities Park. Located right on Benjamin Franklin Parkway, the park is technically part of Logan Square but is a distinct section with a fountain spout plaza (already a favorite for young kids), boat pond (for rental model wooden boats) and discovery garden. The one building in the park is home to Milk & Honey, an outpost of the original market location in West Philly. On a hot day, you can’t help but stop in for the air conditioning and to get a beverage or bite to eat.

Char-Broil is King at Nick’s Charcoal Pit

Today Zoe from Row Home Eats is getting a meat sandwich at Nick’s Charcoal Pit, not to be confused with her last review-  Old Original Nick’s Roast Beef

I was a little bummed that they didn’t have mac and cheese though, which is probably why it took me so long to make the plunge. Cheese Covered Chorizo, Bacon, & Mushrooms from Plaza Garibaldi

There are a ton of Mexican restaurants around Washington Ave, it is hard to choose where to go. When I took my bike for a repair I got into a conversation with the repair guy who told me he was from Mexico and that his favorite local place for authentic food was Plaza Garibaldi. That was a good enough reason for me to check it out.
