Chestnut Hill’s Market at the Fairway Korean Tacos
I just learned about the existence of The Market at Fairway- open Thursday through Saturday in Chestnut Hill. Like a mini Reading Terminal, the space houses food vendors- both prepared and goods to take home and cook yourself. Exploring the Market for the first time, I did a lap around, but ultimately decided to have lunch at the first stand I saw when I walked in- Chicko Tako, for Korean-Mexican food.
I picked the beef tacos- 2 double tortilla tacos with ample bulgogi style meat and some kimchee and cilantro for garnish. These tacos are might juicy- do not eat over your lap- and the flavors were authentic and bold; I was impressed. If I worked in Chestnut Hill I would make the Market and this particular stand a regular Thursday/Friday lunch stop.

I like that there is only one beef available, but you can have chicken(s) or pork(s). Who wouldn’t want multiple porks, amirite?

The old Chestnut Hill Market was always cool, though it never seemed to be up to its potential.
I didn’t know they changed the name, and I haven’t been up there for over a year, when it seemed to be 2/3 empty and under all kinds of construction, which I now realize in hindsight, must have been in preparing for this apparent rebranding / redesign.
Thanks for the heads-up, I’ll have to hop the trusty ole’ R8 up there and check it out again soon.
