PROFILE: Philly Luncher “Kayli”

As we try to do at Philly Lunch, some Tuesdays we turn over the site to a different lunch’er for his or her recommendations for the best lunch in Philadelphia. This week it’s Kayli, a red meat lover who is running Philly’s Diner en Blanc this week.

Name: Kayli

Age: 31 (well, I’ll be 31 the day of DEB!)

Occupation: Higher education (student affairs)

Where in Philly do you Work?: University City

Favorite Kind of Food: medium rare filet mignon

Least Favorite Kind of Food: salmon

Favorite Place(s) to Eat Lunch in Philly: I was obsessed with the Chinese food truck on 15th and Race when I worked in Center City. I’d eat there 2-3 times a week. Now that I’m in University City, I eat at the food trucks almost every day. Chicken satay tacos from Cucina Zapata, burgers from SpotBurger, the list goes on and on.

“Go-To” Lunch Place You and Your Coworkers Eat at Too Often? Sabrina’s or we pick up something delicious from a food truck and eat at the Porch or Love Park.

Place you discovered thanks to Midtown Lunch Philly: Jean’s Cafe. It’s my go-to for the perfect Saturday morning breakfast sandwich (oh wait, can I talk about breakfast on Philly Lunch? Whoops).

If you could work anywhere (just because of the lunch) where would it be and why? Florence, Italy. Life would be perfect if I could eat pasta and gelato for lunch every day.

If you would like to be next week’s Profiled Philly Lunch’er (or know somebody you’d like to nominate), email me at jamie@midtownlunch.com.
