Stuffed with Burgers and Mushroom Patties at Good Stuff Eatery

Spike Mendelsohn’s DC burger chain opened in Philly last week. I don’t know many places whose decor sense can be described as “cocky,” but this is definitely one of them. Besides the narcissistic tshirts and wall art, the next thing I noticed was the confusion around the register. We were not sure where to go to order our food at first. I can say that our food was ready quickly, signaled by out vibrating buzzer a la Shake Shack. It is hard not to compare everything Good Stuff does to Shake Shack since they are very similar in what they offer and how they offer it.

A South Philly Cubano at T & N Homemade Kitchen

You can’t get much more South Philly than T & N Homemade Kitchen , a tiny, 2 table and a counter jawn at Cleveland and Moyamensing. Around since 1980,  they serve a whole lot of crazy, Philly style creations. If you find comfort in being lovingly called “hun” in a South Philly accent, pull up a seat at the T & N counter.

Izakaya Lunch at CoZara

Kale Flecked Lobster Rolls from the Surf and Turf Truck

Like the Foolish Waffles truck, I stalked the Surf and Turf truck to finally find a location that worked for me. This truck has a small menu with a few novel takes on the lobster, plus steak or other seafood sandwiches, depending on the day.

Bonchon Chicken is Coming to Chinatown

My friend Earl just posted this picture that we should all get excited about.

Bonchon chicken is one of the first and biggest Korean Fried Chicken chains, though not all of their locations are equally fabulous in my opinion. However, this is still going to be a big win for Philly. Besides Cafe Soho, which is super far, we don’t have many options, though I do like the versions at Rice and Mix and  Koreana.

The Bonchon Facebook page gives us some information, like the address (1020 Cherry Street), but no opening date yet.
