Rai Rai Ramen
With all these severe storm warning bummer announcements its not a bad time to indulge in some mid summer hot soup. Rai Rai Ramen serves varieties of ramen and Japanese curry in Chinatown.
A bowl of Shio ramen (sans fishcake) comes with beansprouts, bamboo shoots, scallions, and pork belly. We added an egg, because its necessary. While the broth could have been served hotter, we were very pleased with its taste and with the texture of the noodles and pork. I shied away from the more creative ramen types on this first visit, but am still curious about the Shabu Shabu Beef and the Curry ramens. Plus, I want to come back to try out the curry katsu- we don’t have many great options for Japanese curry in Philly.
