Colombian Empanadas at El Bochinche
The signage at El Bochinche instantly took me back to South America. Advertising both Mexican and Colombian food, I knew which I wanted to sample. While good tacos aren’t hard to find, it is still the case that to get good empanadas you have to leave to confines of Center City.
Not many places do the Colombian style, simple beef empanada. Which is a shame, because there are few better snacks than a golden, fried puff with greasy beef filling.

“Golden, fried puff” is a new euphemism for me. (Wayne already introduced me to “greasy beef filling”.)
