Make A Pastrami Topped, Knish Stuffed Hot Dog at Hershel’s
Sometimes I am really proud of how gross I am. I noticed that Hershel’s in Reading Terminal offered a knish dog. I wasn’t exactly sure what that meant, was it a hot dog poked inside a knish? A hot dog wrapped in a knish? I had to know.
Then I saw the hunks of glistening meat on the cutting boards. I wanted it all.
So I ordered my knish dog and asked for a few slices of pastrami on the side. It turns out a knish dog is a hot dog, complete with bun, that has a knish stuffed inside it. Mine was a spinach potato. The hot dog itself was big and juicy. And as if kraut, ketchup, mustard, and a spinach knish wasn’t enough, I threw the salty, succulent meat slices up on there. If it wasn’t already obvious, it was awesome.
