Taste of Philadelphia Ticket Give Away!

Next Wednesday, November 2nd from 6-9 in the Crystal Tea Room is the 5th Annual Taste of Philly event, sponsored by Philadelphia Weekly. I have attended the past 2 years and both times it was a great night. I guarantee that if you choose to, you will leave drunk and quite full. Check out the  recap of last year’s to find out what you can expect. Tickets are $35 (or $30 if you use the code “taste” at check out) but some hungry reader will win a pair! Yay!

All you have to do is post a comment about how much food you think you can put away at Taste of Philly (winner will still be chosen at random). If you also mention in your comment that you “like” Midtown Lunch Philly on Facebook or follow us on Twitter, your chances are doubled.

Winner will be notified by email by Monday at 5pm.

i could really pack in the food stuffs, i really like to go to all you can eat meat (any of them are good – chima, fogo, or the new one in the NE) and make friends with the guy who has the lamb and have him come back a bunch of times until i have been gorged with meat, so yes, i can pack lots of food in my belly!

Oh I can definitely run with the big dogs. You have to be able to do that when you go to these events. There are so many good things to try, and you don’t want to miss out on a thing!

I have not been to this yet – last year I was out of town. I’m finally free to go to this year so I hope I win! :)

How much could I put away? I’d go through more plates than your average conveyor belt sushi place on a Saturday night!

  • I like MIDTOWNLUNCH PHILLY! Before, my recent weight loss…i could really chow down. Once had to cover a gubernatorial election for college paper in NJ. For those in attendance they had free food. They would bring out these horrible over salted, little cheese slices smothered with ketchup gone rancid…I must have eaten at least 40 slices not including little snack foods(cheeses, grapes..etc) and drinks.

I can put away a lot. Probably a helping of everything, and then some.

(I also follow Midtown Lunch on Twitter!)

I probably can’t put away a lot, but I never get into the city to try these restaurants, so I’d give extra effort.

I put away enough at Night Market and Bloktoberfest, so I don’t even know what I’ll do when I do’t have to pay per dish. Didn’t get to go last year so I’m really looking forward to next week.

And I follow you on Twitter AND have a Google Reader feed set up. Ahoy!

first of all i like midtown lunch on facebook.

Secondly I think i could put away enough food that if my parents saw the amount of food that i ate for the night and the amount alcohol consumed they would be disgusted. Also i will for sure bring along my brother who himself also enjoys a good gorging of delicacies. therefore since we will both eat and drink enough to make our parents sick we should win the tickets.

  • What an awesome contest! I’m pretty shameless when it comes to opportunities to try different foods so I’m pretty sure I could do some damage. :)

New to Philly and haven’t had a chance to try out a lot of restaurants yet – I would try everything even if it meant skipping meals for a few days after to make up for it. Then I’d go back to my favorites for a full meal!

And I follow you on Twitter!

I’ve been known to make buffets cry. That paired with my love of food adventures is sure to end with a bulging belly and need for stretchy pants. Of course, indulging in some spirits never hurts either. ;)

i could put back some major amounts of food. when it’s free, my stomach automatically agrees to hold in more food. i can only imagine what kind of food we can put down if i brought my husband… ;)

I could put away quite a bit of whatever vegetarian offerings there are. Plus, I follow you on Twitter (@2weddingbelles).

I think I would (or at least try to) taste EVERYTHING. Having been laid off a bit ago, I haven’t been able to keep up with all great new restaurants and foods like I use to be able to. It would be awesome to get to taste everything I have been missing.
