Zio’s Rice Ball: One Ball is All You Need (For Lunch)

Zio’s makes great pizza. But my favorite thing about this 13th Street staple comes not as a slice, but in ball form.  For under $5, a Zio’s rice ball is a perfect hot, cheesy, meaty lunch.

The slightly crispy shelled rice ball contains all the major food groups; it is stuffed with rice, a few peas, and some ground beef. Once you order, it  is heated up for you, split in half, and filled with cheese and tomato sauce. People in the neighborhood must also share my love for the Zio’s rice ball; the pizzeria often runs out of them, so get there early.
