More Chicken? A Barbacoa Preview

Yes, I am reporting on chicken for the 2nd day in a row. But for good reason. Last night, while on a food adventure, I stumbled into the Grand Opening celebration for Barbacoa, Upper Darby’s new Peruvian Style Rotisserie Chicken Place.

I really had no idea what was going on, but I walked in and was handed a plate of chicken to try out.

The meat didn’t have any crazy herb or marinade permeating, it tasted like simple, good quality, clean chicken. Getting a leg piece is the best way to get the contrasting flavor of the charcoal and wood absorbed in the grilled skin. For a rotisserie chicken, the skin was crispy. The place looks most appropriate for take out, and for $8 you can grab yourself a half a chicken, fries, slaw and a drink. Though I got my plate for free, I would have gladly paid for it.
