Midtown Lunch

Yesterday, Profiled Luncher Erin mentioned her love for the curry fries at Maru Global so I had to give them a try. Japanese curry is way different than Indian curry, its more aromatic and sweet, less cuminy. And Maru serves it over fries ($6)  as well as over burritos and rice.

The fries come topped with the beef flavored curry sauce, though if you were expecting any actual beef pieces you would be disappointed. The little pickled daikon pieces ensure the flavor overall isn’t too heavy. The flavor of the curry is the best part. Which is why pouring it over fries is more satisfying than making a whole meal out of the practially meatless curry as in the case of the rice bowl or burrito.

Plus when I went over, I recently found out they are making super refreshing lemonades for the warm weather like asian pear and cucumber. So refreshing, which explains why they have been selling out of them daily.
