Flavors of the Avenue Ticket Give Away

I recently had the privilege of attending a preview of the Flavors of the Avenue event, an East Passyunk Day of eating that is going down on April 30th.  The event features local restaurants offering samples of their food under a big tent with live music. General Admission Tickets are $30, but if you purchase before the 25th, they will take off $5. So for $25 you can eat from local restaurants and drink wine and beer from 1 to 5pm, can you think of a better way to spend your Saturday? (VIP tickets are $50 or $45 if purchased before the 25th and include a VIP happy hour from 12-1 and specialty cocktails and first tastes)

I tried so much delicious food, I can honestly say this is an event worth going to. You will not need dinner that night.

Look ahead for some pictures of what you can expect and a chance to win a free ticket!

I was so happy to see Plenty giving out samples, and even more excited to see that one of them was a mini version of their Tasso ham sandwich- it was spicy, salty, porky goodness on a crusty bit of bread. One of my favorites. You also shouldn’t pass up on their bacon mac and cheese if they bring it along.

I came back for seconds of the duck prosciutto from Watkin’s Pub.

The pea soup (topped with sumac yogurt) from Fond was probably the best I have ever had.

Both the Gorgonzola pasta and veal with artichokes from Mamma Maria’s were perfect.

Make sure to get a curry chicken waffles from Chhaya while they are hot.

To balance out all the meat going on Paradiso t arancini and Cantina Los Caballitos brought mushroom tacos.

Salt and Pepper offered two totally different but equally memorable tastes in little cups; onion soup and beet pineapple salad.

The variety was delightful and this only captures about 75% of what was available. Excited to get your tickets? You can purchase them online here:
