Philly Restaurant Week Lunch Recommendations
Philly Restaurant Week is back again (January 16-21 & 23-28) with $20 3 and 4 course lunches.With so many participating restaurants it is hard to know where to get the most bang for your buck. I went through the menus of the restaurants offering lunch during Restaurant Week and picked out the ones that sounded the best and what I would order at each.
- Barbuzzo: Roasted beets with goat cheese, orange, pistachio pesto, bright lights chard/Pacherri with sunday supper pork ragu, escarole, burrata & basil/Salted caramel budino with dark chocolate crust, vanilla bean caramel & sea salt
- Cooperage: Mac and cheese with Vermont cheddar & ditalini pasta topped with an herb breadcrumb crust/Short Rib Sandwich- red wine braised short rib, roasted mushrooms, bleu cheese mornay, ciabatta bun/Deep Fried Oreos- housemade biscuit batter, chocolate ice cream
- La Famiglia Restaurante: Rigatoni all’ Amatriciana-Pasta with bacon, onions, plum tomatoes, Pecorino cheese, basil and olive oil/ Veal with red peppers, fresh herbs in white wine sauce topped with Caprino cheese/Dessert of the Day
- LaCroix at the Rittenhouse: Lobster Chowder with Heart of Palm, Kaffir Lime/Brandade-Squid, Cauliflower, Coddled Egg/Dessert Trio
- Le Bec-Fin: Roasted Chestnut and Parsnip Soup, Apple Cider Jalepeno/Roasted Diver Scallop, Cauliflower, Toasted Almond, Celery, Golden Raisin Gastrique/Vanilla Creme Brulee
- Percy St BBQ: Macaroni & Cheese- Cabot Extra Sharp Cheddar Sauce with Bay Leaf, Nutmeg and Garlic Crumbs/Brisket (1/2 lb)/Braised Red Cabbage and Collard Greens/Red Velvet Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting
- Sampan: Edamame Dumplings/Lobster Roll/ Crispy Brussel Sprouts
- Zahav: Selection of salads/Savta Mati’s Borekas-Butternut squash, hazelnuts, sheep’s milk cheese/The Farsi-Short rib, celery root, dates, apple/ Almond Semifreddo with Chocolate crisp
