Frites with a side of Wrap at European Republic

European Republic is a small wrap and frites place in Olde City with a solid lunch special. $7 gets you a wrap, a small order of frites, and a drink.  The list of wraps is long and mostly healthy, but I was most interested in getting those Belgian frites.

I ordered the spicy grilled chicken with goat cheese wrap. The wrap was a little small and the actual wrap material used was a little dry and unmemorable. But inside, the lettuce was fresh and the chicken and goat cheese were enjoyable. They didn’t skimp on the chicken pieces.

The crispy fries were the best part of the lunch. The small order had just the right amount. In true Belgian style, European Republic has a ton of dips to choose from. The roasted garlic hit the spot for me and I shockingly didn’t smell too garlicy afterwards. I was told that the basil is the most popular dip, I need to try that next time. And just a warning for mayo-phobes, the European Sauce is essentially mayo.

While the wrap didn’t wow me, it was pleasant enough and it was nice to have healthy, fresh ingredients. I thought of the wrap as more of a side dish and the frites as the main attraction.

Also, I am always on the look out for good iced tea and their honey green tea was exceptionally tasty.

  • Friendly service
  • Great honey green tea
  • Many healthy wraps to choose from

THE – (What somebody who doesn’t like this place would say)

  • The wrap bread was dry and didn’t add anything to the flavor
