PROFILE: L.A. Lunch’er “David”
As is customary on Midtown Lunch, every Tuesday we profile a random reader to get their recommendations for the best spots to lunch near their work. This week it’s David, a traveling salesman who loves buffets but hates carbs? Only in L.A.!
Name: David
Age: 31
Occupation: Sales Contractor
Where in L.A. do you Work?: Travel daily anywhere in LA or Ventura County
Favorite Kind of Food: Protein
Least Favorite Kind of Food: Carbs
Favorite Place(s) to Eat Lunch: I’m a buffet man: Tequillas for Mexican in N. Hollywood (4310 W Magnolia Blvd.), Mogs Mongolian BBQ in Sherman Oaks (4454 Van Nuys Blvd), Village Tandoor Indian buffet in Northridge (18530 Devonshire St).
“Go-To” Lunch Place You and Your Coworkers Eat at Too Often? Unfortunately, usually time is short so Carl’s Jr. Burger combo with salad instead of fries and diet soda, or El Pollo Loco
The farthest place you’ll drive for lunch on a normal day? I would drive at least 10 miles for Crazy Tokyo Sushi in Tarzana (18406 Ventura Blvd and there’s one in Woodland Hills too.) High quality very fresh sushi and excellent prices.
If you could work anywhere (just because of the lunch) where would it be and why? Sorry, my dream job is about the money not the lunch Zach!
Is there anything you’d like to ask the Midtown Lunch readers in L.A.? If you go to a place and it gave you the squirts would you go back if the food tasted really really good? BTW never got the squirts from any recommended restaurant above!
Yes. Yes I would. As always if you want to be next week’s Profiled: L.A. Lunch’er (or know somebody you’d want to nominate), email me- zach@midtownlunch.com.

Haven’t been back to Yoshinoya in 5 years now. However, I could only stay away from Bay Cities Deli for only a month or so after a case of FP last year–and gladly, it hasn’t happened again!
