Pop Up Lunch Program Coming To Soho This Week

A program called the Melting Pot Obscurities is coming to the Vesuvio Playground at Spring St. & Thompson on Wednesday from 1 to 2:30 p.m. What is this, you might be asking? Well, a guy named Eric Zawacki came up with the idea of making a menu of different cuisines and serving it at locations around the city. This is the second installment, and the menu is themed on Sunset Park which as you may know is a neighborhood in Brooklyn that has large Mexican and Chinese communities. Menu and ordering info after the jump.

The $11 sack lunch contains a short rib tamale, Szechuan-style green bean salad with mustard and chorizo, cherry lime agua fresca and condiments. All of the information you need is on this Tumblr.

You can order online with a credit card until 1 p.m. today. If you miss that deadline, you can order by e-mailing mpolunchprogram@gmail.com and pay in cash when you pick up your lunch Wednesday. The e-mail ordering closes at 3 p.m. on Tuesday (the 26th), or when the lunch program is full, according to Eric.
