Other Things I Ate This Week: Polish in Elkin’s Park

*new weekly feature for 2016: brief photo recaps + not always lunch

Up by the Elkin’s Park train station sits Alexander’s Cafe, a really cute little restaurant with a mostly American food, but I stopped in because I heard about a Polish section of the menu.

The sampler platter for two ($16) had all the things I wanted: blistered sausage on cabbage, fluffy pierogies, and stuffed cabbage.

Sharing that platter, my friend and I had just enough room for dessert- a caramel soaked sticky toffee pudding.

I had been before with my parents and it is pretty good, but I tried to go back with 2 of my friends and the lady basically kicked us out because she didn’t want people waiting for a table even though it was the middle of winter. Now I go to Port Richmond for my Polish fix.

  • Did you hear about the Polish family that froze to death outside a theater?

They were waiting to see the movie “Closed For The Winter”
