PROFILE: Philly Luncher “Meredith”

As is customary at Philly Lunch, every Tuesday we turn over the site to a different lunch’er for his or her recommendations for the best lunch in Philadelphia. This week, it’s Meredith, aka The Blue Jean Chef.

Name: Meredith

Age: 41

Occupation: Self-employed television presenter on QVC – Blue Jean Chef

Where in Philly do you Work?: Queen Village

Favorite Kind of Food: I LOVE Indian cuisine. Not a week goes by without me eating Indian food. I’m also a big fan of other spicy foods – Thai, Mexican… At the opposite end of the spectrum, I do like very well prepared simple meals. Simple roast chicken, fresh vegetables, anything prepared perfectly. I’m a big fan of bread and have had a love affair with chocolate since childhood.

Least Favorite Kind of Food: Pumpkin and marshmallows – together or separately.

Favorite Place(s) to Eat Lunch in Philly: Mumbai Bistro (930 Locust Street) can’t be beat for value. I enjoy the falafel at Alyan’s (603 South 4th Street). Pizzaria Stella (420 South 2nd Street) for wood-fired pizza. Amada (217-219 Chestnut Street) for a high end relaxing lunch.

“Go-To” Lunch Place You and Your Coworkers Eat at Too Often? Picking up sushi at Essene (719 South 4th Street)

If you could work anywhere (just because of the lunch) where would it be and why? Paris. Just to stumble out into a spectacular bistro every day with wine and a long lunch hour.

Is there anything you’d like to ask the Philly Lunch readers? Send me to the best cart food in town…

What do you think Nick?  Coup de Taco and Don Memo’s come to mind for me.
