Worst Week Ever: So not only do I have a sprained wrist, Eater is reporting that New Harmony bakery- my spot for yogurt pop-  has closed. Why is the whole world against me!!!!!

The Sprain in my Game…: So, my bike tire got caught in the trolley rail on 11th st and I fell on my arm. We think it's a sprain. I can only type with one hand, so forgive me if I am lacking in posts this week. I also crushed the freshly made tortilla chips I was bringing home. Two tragedies.

Join the Lunch Team!!: ML Philly is looking for some new eaters who love to go that extra mile for a decent lunch. Do you lunch in Philly? Like to write? Love to eat? Then you could be a correspondent for Midtown Lunch. Interested? Email me at jamie@midtownlunch.com and tell us where you work, what you like to eat, and why you think you’re the right Lunch’er for the job. Please include a food related writing sample, preferably one with pictures.

Menu at Rice & Mix is Up, KFC coming soon: The menu at Rice and Mix, a new Korean restaurant from the Giwa people on 1207 walnut, is up and they are looking for staff. Maybe an opening is around the corner? Like much of the menu, once you get your bibimbop in a stone pot it goes over the ML $10 limit, and what good is it not in a stone pot. But is that Korean fried chicken coming soon, I see?

Prostitute Yourself for a Valentine’s Burrito: This promotional deal amuses me, so I will share it. On Valentine's Day (that is this Tuesday gentlemen, don't forget), you can get 2 meals for the price of one at Qdoba by kissing anyone around you. Let the sexual assault upon lonely, bean seeking folks commence!

Does Beer Go with Donuts?: I am going to find out... tonight at Devil's Den (1148 S. 11th Street) get 3 beers and 3 Krispy Kreme donuts to match for $10 with $4 benefiting PAWS. The pairings are:

  • Original Glazed Doughnut with PBC’s Joe Porter
  • Cinnamon Bun Doughnut with Yards’ Thomas Jefferson Ale
  • Pumpkin Spice Cake Doughnut with Weyerbacher’s Verboten, a Belgian style pale ale.
