Bacon Jam Smothered Biscuit from Fa Caldo Caffe
Fa Caldo opened this winter two blocks away from the East Passyunk area, featuring an all day breakfast menu. I know what you are thinking, “another cafe? Jamie, who gives a hoot?” But you should give several hoots. You should give them because of the homemade cheddar biscuits and the bacon jam you can put on it.
Besides the bacon onion jam, this beauty was toasted with provolone, and then, at the staff’s recommendation, some pancetta. In case you had any doubts- the combo of flavors here was perfect. The sweet, smokey jam and cheese oozed in passionate unison together while the biscuit did its best to keep it together. Hoot hoot.
Seating is available inside and outside. I took my hot biscuit and cold iced tea outside. What other knockout biscuit sandwiches have you tried?

Last time I oozed in passionate unison it was just me and a plate of John Brown Smokehouse pork belly. That was some epic oozing.
