Taste of Philly 2012 Recap

Last night I attended the Phila Weekly Taste of Philly event.  It seems like there were a few less participants and more attendees this year so the lines were longer and the alcohol ran out before it was over, but the DJ was awesome and I left full and introduced to a few new places around the city.

I kept coming back for the seared tuna from Doc Magrogan’s.  They kept plating them until the very end, which was appreciated.

Other highlights: World Cafe live had seared scallops. Milkboy brought some much needed cocktails, veggie burritos, and a great carnitas sandwich. Eat a Pita had a nice array of panninis. El Zarape brought super spicy pork over salad.

I am pretty sure I sampled from every restaurant there, including half a burger from 5 guys, a salad from JNA,  baked goods from Le Bus,

pasta and a pork sandwich from  T and N Homemade kitchen, which I had never heard of,

and the sauce from Mood’s chicken tikka was good, but I didn’t actually get any chicken.

Cupcakes, Red Mango Smoothies, and rich truffle balls from Maggiano’s served as dessert.
