The Sprain in my Game…: So, my bike tire got caught in the trolley rail on 11th st and I fell on my arm. We think it's a sprain. I can only type with one hand, so forgive me if I am lacking in posts this week. I also crushed the freshly made tortilla chips I was bringing home. Two tragedies.

From Hamburgers to Wonton Soup and Banh Mi at the Simply Yummy Truck

A year ago, the ladies behind the Simply Yummy truck at Temple University stuck to the traditional campus staples- hamburgers, cheesesteaks, fries, etc. Then they started offering  occasional Asian inspired specials that quickly became popular. That menu expanded from an occasional wonton soup, to an official section of the menu including  grilled lemongrass chicken and pork either over rice or in banh mi.

The Sandwich Experiment Competition (Update: Ticket Give Away)

Last year, the Food Experiment brought the Cheese Competition to Philly and it was a total blast. For this year’s event, what could be more Philly than cheese, you ask? Sandwiches!

WHERE: Underground Arts at Wolf Building, 1200 Callowhill St., Philadelphia, PA 19108
JUDGES: Emilio Mignucci of Di Bruno bros

(The winner from  each city’s Experiment will be flown in to Brooklyn courtesy of Brooklyn Brewery to compete with the best of the best for a chance to become The  Food Experiments’ 2012 reigning champion.)

TICKETS: $12 – include a Brooklyn Brewery pint and a plethora of culinary delights.
(Half of the ticket proceeds will go towards charities promote sustainability and local culinary education for disadvantaged children and teens.)
