Cafe 12 is Selling Sandwiches with your Coffee, Go FIGure which one I enjoyed

A little while back the Gayborhood coffee shop Brew-ha-ha turned into Cafe 12. While the drink menu looks about the same, (expensive hot coffee drinks, check! expensive cold coffee drinks, check!) a list of sandwiches was added. That is surely  an improvement. Each of the six sandwiches are $7.25 and are put together to order.

They had me at fig spread. The turkey, brie, sliced granny smith apple, and fig spread sandwich definitely stood out off their list. Sandwiches come on your choice of baguette or wrap and the first negative is that they do not use fresh bread. With access to Metropolitan Bakery bread and neighboring Garces Trading Co’a bread, it seems lazy.  The other minor negative with this sandwich is that the turkey used is sliced deli meat, but at least its Boar’s Head. Sweet, salty, and tart are working together here, kudos to this coffee shop for thinking up this combo of ingredients. The creamy brie, thin apple slices and coating of fig spread are really what elevates this sandwich and makes it worth stopping into this particular cafe over another.
