Beef Stew Empanadas at Los Caballos Locos

I like to keep my finger on the pupusa  pulse of this town. Earlier this month, Philly Voice wrote a piece on the beauty that is the elusive (in Philly) pupusa, along with a round up of where to find them. The included 4 places on my list: TamalexCafe CanelaPura Vida,  El Cuscatleco, plus a Jersey spot, a North Philly food truck, and one newb that immediately caught my eye- Los Caballos Locos which opened in August. The small shop in south east Philly sells Ecuadorian and El Salvadorian food.  They also do delivery within a 10 mile radius!

H-Mart Noodles and Pupusas: The State of Upper Darby Terminal Square in June 2015

The area around H-Mart in Upper Darby’s Terminal Square, including the H-Mart food court, is one of my favorite blocks for dining. La Casa de las Empanadas

While doing some Korean grocery shopping, I stumbled into Upper Darby’s latest restaurant- a Colombian spot called La Casa de las Empanadas. I love myself some empanadas, so that seemed like an appropriate casa for me to walk in to.

Chicha and Chicken, Peruvian Dining at Inka Wall

Inka Wall, a Peruvian restaurant, is one of the newer occupants of the “HMart Plaza” in Upper Darby. We don’t have a ton of Peruvian food in Philadelphia,  that’s enough of a reason to make the trip west to the end of the Market/Frankford line.

Argentinian Empanadas from Gavin’s Cafe

I love empanadas so much and there aren’t many to be found in Center City. Earlier this month Foobooz out out a list of places to find them and I was reminded of Gavin’s Cafe and their Argentinian empanadas all the way on the westernmost side of Center City.

It is a cute cafe with a few 2 top tables, but there is plenty of park space to eat nearby if  the sun is out and winds are low.
