Duck Poutine at Suppa
Suppa in Norther Liberties focuses on indulgent, American food all day. With a “Chopped” win under their chef’s belt, you have to trust the menu, which includes a smoked and pressed duck sandwich, fried chicken, and even some vegetarian dishes.
The appetizers are meals in themselves. Duck Poutine had to be ordered- duck confit and cheddar curds over fries, with a duck and chicken gravy ($12). You might think a casual, BYO would throw a few pieces of duck over fries and call it an appetizer. But here, the entire plate of fries are completely swaddled in the gravy- confit mixture. If you eat this without sharing, I salute you.
5 large cheddar pierogies topped with caramelized onion and short rib are another filling appetizer ($8.5). The horseradish sour cream takes it to the next level.
An entree of spaghetti squash (not pictured) was not as flavorful as our appetizers- attempting the healthy route may not be the best way to enjoy Suppa.
