PROFILE: Philly Luncher “Katie”

As we try to do at Philly Lunch, some Tuesdays we turn over the site to a different lunch’er for his or her recommendations for the best lunch in Philadelphia. This week it’s Katie, who frequents many of Philly’s healthier lunch spots.

Name: Katie

Age: 31

Occupation: Special Events and Communications Director

Where in Philly do you Work?: Clean Air Council in Center City

Favorite Kind of Food: Tacos, local fruits and veggies

Least Favorite Kind of Food: Peanut Butter…I get a lot of flack for this.

Favorite Place(s) to Eat Lunch in Philly: I love checking out the food trucks in Love Park. Farm Truck is one of my favorites because they are always using really fresh local seasonal ingredients in a fun way. Their tofu tacos make my mouth water. I’m excited for what they are going to be serving at Greenfest Philly this year. I also love Pure Fare and Agno Grill for healthy delicious lunches and they support Clean Air Council’s Dine Out for the Environment.

“Go-To” Lunch Place You and Your Coworkers Eat at Too Often? Mama’s Vegetarian on 20th and Hip City Veg, we are really spoiled by the amazing vegetarian options in this city.

Place you discovered thanks to Midtown Lunch Philly: Giwa! It has some of my favorite bibimbop in the city.

If you could work anywhere (just because of the lunch) where would it be and why? Southeast Asia for sure. Maybe Vietnam. I wouldn’t mind grabbing lunch and working from a beautiful beach.

Is there anything you’d like to ask the Philly Lunch readers? Who has the best veggie cheesesteak?! I love to hear people’s opinions on this subject. It’s become as heated as the Pat’s/Geno’s debate.

Govinda’s is always at the top of every vegan cheesesteak list, even I liked it!
