Pamir Grill Kabob Brings Afghani Food to the Diamond District
I was doing some serious diamond shopping (not) and noticed a new addition to the area -Pamir Grill and Kebob, a month old Aghani restaurant. The menu is all about kebobs and stews. Ample seating is available; I did take out and it was ready pretty quickly.
A leek turnover came free with my entree. It was decent, but felt reheated, making the texture off.
I chose the lamb chalow entree ($10) after it was recommended. For my to go order, a platter of rice and salad was separate from the container of lentil and lamb stew in a tomato sauce. It wasn’t a huge amount of the stew, but it worked as a lunch time portion. The stew was not oily and the lamb was tender, moist, and flavorful- all the things you want from your lamb stew.
I am not sure if this area will be able to sustain this type of restaurant, but based on the lamb stew alone, I hope it does. Would you go?
THE + (What somebody who likes this place would say)
- Solid lamb stew
THE – (What somebody who doesn’t like this place would say)
- Improperly reheated apps
