All of the Things in Campo’s “The Stockyard” Sandwich
Campo’s is a sandwich shop in Old City with a huge variety of sandwiches, including some allegedly decent cheesesteaks. I don’t know if its just me, but some days I like to gross myself out by ordering a meal I really shouldn’t. It just feels right to pick out something a cardiologist would be disgusted with. Usually this happens after a night of drinking or a night of having salad for dinner. Luckily, Campo’s make it easy.
The Stockyard sandwich ($9.75) has all of things. Chopped chicken and steak with a few pieces of pepperoni, and bacon, plus fried onions on top and marscarpone cheese underneath. Its a lot of meat, in a soft but sturdy hoagie. I would have liked more pepperoni and bacon, because, well, bacon and pepperoni are more delicious and salty than chicken. Though it wasn’t as greasy as I expected, I was able to achieve that guilty feeling I was seeking.
For dessert Campo’s had the PERFECT thing. A tiny container of dirt pudding (vanilla with oreo). The touch of sweetness I needed after all that sandwich.
THE + (What somebody who likes this place would say)
- A sandwich with all the things for under $10
THE – (What somebody who doesn’t like this place would say)
- This might kill you
