Congrats to Vendy Winners India Jones and Karina’s Food: They took home the Vendy Cup and the People's Choice Award yesterday at L.A.'s 2nd Vendy Awards. Hundreds of people enjoyed the festivities at Pan Pacific Park, eating great street food in support of L.A. City Farm. For some great photos of the entire event, check out Serious Eats...

Vendy Awards Return to L.A. and Here are the Finalists: The oscars of the street food world (at least in NYC they are!) The Vendy Awards will return to Los Angeles for the second time on June 24th at Pan Pacific Park.  Tickets are only $40, which I can tell you from going to the first year is a crazy bargain, and all proceeds go to benefit L.A. City Farm.  Read about the finalists, the judges and buy tickets over on their website. [via Eater]

Mo Chica on 7th Opens For Lunch Today!: The day has finally arrived for Ricardo Zarate fans who work Downtown but couldn't find the time to make it to the Mercado de Paloma during lunch time. The new Mo Chica opens on 7th btw. Grand and Olive today at 11:30am. They previewed the new menu of modern Peruvian dishes over the weekend for friends and family, which you can check out here, here and here.

A Big Congrats: to our friend Garrett Snyder, who was named the L.A. Weekly's resident full time food blogger yesterday.  Curious where Garrett eats for lunch?  He was one of our Profiled Lunchers back in December (and is singlehandedly responsible for our discovering the awesomeness of Pioneer Fried Chicken.)

Get 30% off Spaghetti House by Orris: If you've been meaning to try Spaghetti House by Orris, the newish Japanese pasta place we told you about last month on Sawtelle, here's a good incentive... this week's Blackboard Eats deal gets you 30% lunch or dinner at Spaghetti House. We recommend the carbonara.

Enough Korean Lunches to Last a Lifetime: Holy godeungeo, did you see Jonathan Gold's 60 Korean Dishes That Every Angeleno Should Know About in today's L.A. Weekly?  Sorry no post today on Midtown Lunch. Need to take the day off to fully digest this one!

Don’t Forget It’s Soup Week on the Frysmith Truck: Just a friendly reminder... it's soup week on the Frysmith Truck! Instead of french fries (and french fry stuffed burritos) they'll be serving 3 soups. Order one, or a sampler of all three, and you can get seasoned fries to match on the side.  Today (Tuesday) they'll be parked on 26th & Pennsylvania, and you can see the rotating menu of soups on their website.
