Not In The Mood For A Sandwich? Try Potbelly’s Delicious Chili

In case you haven’t noticed, an annoying thing called the Polar Vortex has made walking outside to grab lunch an exercise in quickness and finding something warm to eat. The other day a craving for chili hit, and there aren’t too many places that regularly carry this specific dish. Then it dawned on me that Potbelly, of which there are four locations downtown, had chili on its menu every day and I had never tried it. While I may not flip my lid for their sandwiches, the chili is delicious.

Potbelly Opening Third FiDi Location Next Week: At this point, Potbelly Sandwich Shop and Lenny's seem to be in a race of bread and cold cuts to take over the Financial District. We got word that the newest Potbelly location on Fulton St. (btw. Nassau & William) will be opening Oct. 22. at 11 a.m. Now if there's a huge line at the Maiden Lane location, you can hoof it over a few blocks to this one.

Potbelly’s Invasion Of The FiDi Continues On Fulton St.

It seems like just yesterday that the first New York outpost of Chicago-based Potbelly Sandwich Shop debuted on Maiden Lane to a line of frenzied fans. In fact, that was more than two years ago and now a third Financial District location has popped up on Fulton St. between Nassau and William. Apparently our hunger for sandwiches with hot pepper relish knows no bounds.

Potbelly Reopens, Hot Clay Oven Coming Back Soon

You sandwich fiends out there should be happy to know that the Potbelly Sandwich Shop on Maiden Lane (btw. Gold & Pearl) has reopened after being shuttered by hurricane Sandy. (As far as I know the location at 90 Broad St. is still closed).

Potbelly is one of the first in the string of chain lunch spots at the bottom of Maiden Lane to reopen, with Pret a Manger still closed, along with a Hale & Hearty location across the street. As we’ve noted, the Goodburger at Maiden & Pearl is turning into a location of P.J. Clarke’s spin off Clarke’s Standard, which just opened in Midtown.

Another Potbelly Officially Open: Following an "oven warming" on Monday, the Potbelly Sandwich Shop at 90 Broad St. (at Stone) is officially open for business today. The store's hours will be 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and they're open until 5 p.m. on Saturdays for all of your sandwich-related needs.

Free Potbelly At New Location On Monday

Are you one of those rabid fans of Potbelly Sandwich Shop‘s sandwiches? Do you like free lunches? Well, then you might want to RSVP for the oven warming at the new location on Broad St. (at Stone) which is giving you a free sandwich, chips and drink ahead of the opening. You can get the free stuff between 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., or just wait until the shop actually opens which will actually cost you something.

It seems like just yesterday that everyone was waiting eagerly for the first NYC outpost of Potbelly Sandwich Shop to open on Maiden Lane, and now it seems like there are a million of them. A new location was spotted in a building at 90 Broad St., so now you who work far down in the Financial District can enjoy waiting in a line out the door for a sandwich, too. These two shops join one near City Hall on Broadway just off Chambers.
