Dave’s Hoagies Brings Philly-Style Sandwiches To Cedar St. Today

We got word last Friday that a new sandwich shop called Dave’s Hoagies is set to open today for lunch on Cedar St. (btw. William & Pearl). Sure enough, when I walked by finishing touches were being put on the small space that’s near some other Downtown Lunch favorites.

Prices are a little higher than what you’re used to for a sandwich, but these are probably fancier than what you’d get from the generic deli. If you love the sandwiches of Philadelphia, this is your spot. Take a look at the menu straight ahead!

Even if you go vegetarian you’re going to hit the high water mark at $10, and a sandwich with prosciutto is $12.50. The middle ground is roast beef, turkey or Italian. All of the sandwiches are on Parisi Bakery rolls (or you can get it as a salad), topped with something called “Dave’s famous hoagie sauce,” provolone, lettuce, tomato, red onion, roasted red pepper, hot cherry pepper, artichoke and grated parmesan.

The minimalist menu contains two side options of River Snack potato chips and three varieties of Tastykakes. I guess if you’re spending $11 on a sandwich you might as well just go for the gold!

It should be noted that this place has limited hours of 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. during the week.
