Signage Up On Fulton St. Five Guys, Opening This Weekend

The bright red sign went up on the new Five Guys on Fulton St. (at Gold Dutch) in the Financial District at the end of last week and it’s set to open this Saturday. The hours are 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., and there aren’t any opening specials planned, reps from the chain said. It’s a little strange that they’re opening on a weekend, but I guess that gives them time to get any kinks worked out before the onslaught that is sure to happen the following Monday.

  • With a storefront that tiny, there’s going to be lines going all the way down Fulton on Monday.

  • Well it may be small but at least I don’t have to go to the one in brooklyn anymore… and that one is smaller than the picture above.

  • Went there on Sat. (opening day) around 3pm. It’s actually at 112 Fulton and Dutch. (ie, between Nassau and William, instead of at Gold as stated above. It’s 2 blocks west of Gold. Right across from Blarney Stone).

Had a bacon cheezburger (which is a double cheeseburger. The “little burgers” are singles), with grilled onions, pickles, and BBQ sauce. Place was fully staffed, with some customers (mostly tourists) eating in there. It’s about as big/small as the one on 3rd Ave. No line. Got my burger in 2-3 mins. It was my first time at a Five Guys, and haven’t had In n Out so can’t compare. Just the burger, no fries, came to almost $10, took it home (couple blocks away) to devour.

Upon biting into it, I thought “Umm Hmmm, this IS a tasty burger.” The bacon was thick cut, and actually crispy and crunchy!!! That scored major points in my books. I also appreciate how they put the bacon and onions UNDER the burger patties. Washed that 1,000 calorie mother down with an IPA. AHHhhh…that hit the spot.

It’s open 7 days a week 11am-10pm. I’d definitely go back again (can’t resist the crispy bacon), perhaps getting a single next time, and piling on the free toppings. This place is gonna make me take a break from the Goodburger on Maiden Lane for a little bit.
