It’s Potato Chip Topped Roast Beef Sandwich Day at Previti Pizza!

When Zach first wrote about Previti Pizza (on 41st btw. Lex+Park) back in December, he mentioned that on Thursdays they served a special roast beef sandwich with garlic butter and potato chips in the sandwich (!?)  Well, Serious Eats: New York tried the sandwich this week (apparently it’s also offered on Tuesday) and reports that it is every bit as good as it sounds.  And, not only is the bread baked in house (and slathered in the garlic butter mentioned previously) but the house made roast beef is also dipped in its own juices.  And what do you know… today is Thursday.  What’s that?  You already ate a roast beef sandwich dipped in its own juices this week.  That’s loser talk!  (Photo courtesy of Adam Kuban)

Previti Pizza Gets the Slice Seal Of Approval

I was a big fan of the relatively new Previti Pizza (on 41st btw. Lex+Park) when I first tried it out back in December, but for serious pizza opinion I always turn to Adam Kuban and Slice.  That’s why I was pretty excited to see that he tried the place last week, and has decided it’s not just “good… for Midtown” but it’s good for “anywhere”! Apparently for pizza connoisseurs, it’s the cheese blend that gives the slice a nice depth of flavor. (Who knew!?) Now if we could just get Adam to try the pizza at Cafe Duke we could settle this “best non-restaurant pizza in Midtown” argument once and for all.

Got an email from Lunch’er “Elizabeth” on Tuesday telling me about a brand new pizza place called Previti that opened Monday on 41st btw. Park+Lex.

“Hi there, avid follower of the blog. Have a new place for you to check out. It’s called Previti, just opened on 41st and Lex. Get the artichoke slice — delicious!”

Now, when you say “artichoke slice”, are you talking slice of pizza with artichokes on top? Or are you talking a deliciously gross, spinach and “artichoke” dip topped slice- ala Artichoke in the East Village? Turns out it’s a little from column A, and a little from column B.
