Uncle Gussy’s Greek Yogurt, Ice Cream and Sorbet Cart Slated to Open Today

If you’ve been following the ML Twitter Tracker, you know that Uncle Gussy’s has a new venture up their sleeve. For the past few months they’ve been perfecting Greek-style frozen yogurt, ice cream and sorbet recipes. Early reports from yogurt sampling they did back during that hot spell in March were good and with some luck the cart will be opening today.

I recently had a chance to catch up with Nick to get the full scoop (haha) on their new cart.

For the menu they’re trying to keep a Greek theme, like a lemon mint sorbet, greek yogurt, figs. Nick told me he actually went and took classes with a master gelato maker and has been working with him developing the recipes. As with the food on the truck you can expect top notch ingredients. With the popularity of Greek yogurt like Fage and Chobani, the timing seems right (in fact, Ben & Jerry’s recently came out with Greek frozen yogurt line).

UPDATE: Nick emailed us this morning and the flavors for today are going to be: Greek frozen yogurt, Dark Athenian chocolate, Frappe and Lemon Mint Sorbet.

For now the cart will be right next to the truck, though as the summer progresses it may move around. Keep your fingers crossed that the weather cooperates and keep tabs on any updates via the ML Twitter Tracker. Early adopters, let us know your thoughts in the comments!
