First Look at Mangu, the New Dominican Kitchen
Couple weeks ago we brought you news that Mangu Dominican (45th btw. Lex+3rd) was getting ready to open and had gave us a first look at their menu. They finally opened this week and I took a peek inside. Check out the photos after the jump.
My first impression of the place was, “wow it’s colorful!” followed by “hm it’s a bit tight.” What you don’t see (or what I didn’t take a photo of) was a counter top with 4 stools on the other side of the ordering counter. I can’t imagine a lot of people fitting into the space without spewing out the door.
But everything seem to be already cooked and placed behind the ordering counter which will make the line move faster.
I definitely need a new place to get delicious chicken with rice and beans, now that I don’t work near Salt & Pepper. I’m also close to Sophie’s on 3rd btw. 49th+50th but sometimes walking one block to get lunch is already far enough. Early adopters, let us know what you think in the comments.
