Where Do Male Mister Softee Drivers Pee?!
Miss Softee tells DNAinfo that there are disadvantages to being a female Mister Softee driver. For example “unlike male vendors, she said she can’t come up with alternatives to finding an actual bathroom.” Uh… “alternatives”? Selling ice cream in Midtown isn’t exactly camping in the woods. What are the alternatives? On second thought, I don’t want to know.

I would think finding a bathroom when you are a vendor from a truck would be much easier than a cart vendor, because she could lock up the truck while finding a bathroom (at Starbucks perhaps?) or drive it to a location with a bathroom and lock it up there while she finds a bathroom. However, if you are a lone vendor with a cart and no one to relieve you (pun intended), then that’s tough; I suppose you could ask someone trustworthy to watch the cart but it may be hard to find someone fitting that description. In any case, it makes me shudder to think the male Mr. Softee vendors are relieving themselves inside the truck.

a fruit stand vendor asked me to watch his cart once while i peed at dunkin donuts down the block. i sold a case of blueberries for him.
