Beacon Starts Serving Burgers From “Side Door”

We’ve been longtime fans of the Burger Bar at Beacon (on 56th btw. 5+6th) and Mamacita recently enjoyed their bar deal… but it looks like they have finally introduced something that is truly a Midtown Lunch. This week, Beacon started a little lunchtime pop up called “The Side Door”, selling a limited menu- literally from their side door.  For $10 you can get their wood grilled burger with or without cheese plus chips and a soda or bottled water. (The same burger that Mamacita got during happy hour.)

But wait, there’s more…

They’re also serving something called Mr. Pink’s Double Dog: 2 grilled beef hot dogs, with parmesan, grilled onions, and sweet pepper relish in a po-boy roll with chips and a soda or bottled water (also $10). For the vegetarians (or for those who want something a bit more refreshing) they’re also offering a $5 chilled roast tomato “salsa” soup (which also comes with chips.)

The Side Door will be open all summer long from 11:30am to 2pm (or, until supplies run out.) And it’s cash only. We can’t say for sure if this is a result of the forthcoming Midtown burger onslaught (clearly, it affected Goodburger) and quite frankly who cares? The Beacon Burger plus chips and a soda for $10 just might be the best burger deal in all of Midtown.
