Otarian Vegetarian Opening in Midtown on April 19th
Fork in the Road just reported that Otarian, a new fast casual Vegan/Vegetarian spot that touts itself as being “low carbon”, will be opening on Bleecker Street April 19th. What they didn’t mention was that there is a second location opening in Midtown on the same day, on 56th Street and 8th Ave. You know we don’t usually get super excited about this kind of stuff but one of us we’ll sacrifice ourselves for the good of the vegetarian Midtown Lunch’ers.

Wouldn’t veggies be negative carbon? Well, with transport and growing costs (In hydrocarbons) they might be neutral….whatever….silly veggies. Gimme burger!

Maybe someone is secretly sneaking in meat into her diet, giving her some red blood cells. I have tried to pull such good natured pranks on co-workers. Surprisingly, they don’t find it nearly as funny as I do… All I know is EVERYONE likes bacon, whether they know it or not!

Sarah: You are certainly not alone. I am also not a meat-eater and filter all Midtown Lunch postings through that lens. I may be the only other ML’er looking forward to this opening.

Of course I prefer meats but I’m not against eating vegetarian, as long as taste is present and doesn’t destroy my wallet.
